Chef Tim Shaw invited me to join the team for The Vista Room Cookbook (official title to come), commissioned by San Francisco State University. As a freelance photographer, I dedicated a week to capturing and editing images daily for this project. The cookbook features a diverse collection of recipes crafted by Chef Tim Shaw, Chef Amil Ortiz, and the talented students who train at The Vista Room. This unique culinary environment not only showcases their culinary skills but also provides an invaluable learning experience about food and sustainable cooking practices.
The Vista Room serves as a fully functional restaurant and teaching laboratory, where students gain hands-on experience in food service and hospitality. Through this collaboration, I had the opportunity to document the vibrant atmosphere and the passion for culinary arts that defines this program. The resulting photographs reflect the creativity and dedication of everyone involved in this exciting project.
